Your apartment is literally palatial, extremely well-located (near the Hundertwasserhaus, a fabulous bakery/cafe and two well-connected u/sbahn stations) and extremely comfortable. As you know, we had our Granddaughter with us and she adored Fanni’s immense room packed with items to delight an eight year old. Being both extremely spacious, but all on one level, makes for easy living. The views from the windows really evoke a feeling of Viennese splendour. We loved your Art Nouveau/Jugendstil building.
We thoroughly appreciated the warm welcome that awaited us upon arrival - your delightful friend Eva was awaiting us as the taxi pulled up outside your beautiful building and instructed us re keys etc. This she did in a warm and friendly manner, not out-staying her welcome etc. (we were tired and hungry after our journey).
We really appreciated the goodies you provided (mainly Vegan - honouring our tastes) despite my reassuring you that we would not need anything. The items we sampled were delicious! Throughout the organisation of the exchange and the exchange itself, it was always easy to contact you and response was speedy - thank you.
Vienna itself must have a transport system that is the envy of the world! We thoroughly appreciated it! For €17 euros per week, per person it was possible to travel on city trams, buses, u-bahn, s-bahn - incredible value! What is more - all modes of transport are exceedingly frequent, immaculately clean and well-used by all. I don’t think we waited longer than three minutes for our public transport during the two week stay! We made full use of the tickets and visited numerous attractions. Despite being very popular, we always got a seat! London look and learn!
Among our Granddaughter’s favourite venues were “Time travel Vienna”, Schönbrunn Zoo, Spanish Riding School and the climbing frame plus water misters in Stadtpark (it was very hot during our stay). We enjoyed everything! It was wonderful being in a city that understands good coffee and we relinquished our Vegan diet on many an occasion to sample the delicious cakes - our Granddaughter love Gugelhuph!
Before setting off on our touristic exploits each day, we enjoyed many a coffee and croissant at your local bakers, sitting at the window smiling as numerous people, of all nationalities, took photos in the red UK phone box near the Hundertwasserhaus.
We have not yet returned from our travels, but our friends from Belgium (who are house-sitting for us) tell us that our home was left very clean and tidy. Huge thanks for caring for it.
We can most certainly recommend an exchange with Daniela, Wolfgang, Zoe, Lia and Fanni without reservation.
