We live in a beautiful and spacy house in the green outskirts of Bielefeld City (approx. 300,000 inhabitants). There are countless walking and hiking paths in the Teutoburg Forrest within walking distance from our house (15 min). In the annex behind the house lives Karla, a lovely young woman who studies at Bielefeld university. She is very friendly and also very silent.
Apart from its lovely landscape, Bielefeld is surrounded by idyllic half timber towns from the Middle Ages, still unheralded by tourist crowds. Rich shopping opportunities. Cycling paths (in Germany always well signposted and sometimes almost as good as the Dutch ones) start in front of our house. In Oerlinghausen (10km) is on of the biggest sport and glider airfields in Europe. We always find it spectacular for watching but you can also get a glider flight there for just 25 EUR. For people interested in Art: Kunsthalle (museum for modern art) in the city. 4 O.Gehry museums in towns nearby. Splendid connections (train or car) to visit Hannover (1 hour), Bremen (2 hours), Cologne, Hamburg or Berlin (2,5 - 3 hours).
Miene, our cat, needs to be fed twice a day. She's pretty cuddly, but unfortunately she doesn't like dogs. To hunt mice in the garden, she has her cat flap and she also likes to rest in the living room. No litter box to look after! We are open to all offers.
