Our country home is situated on the outskirts of a quiet hamlet in the heart of Somerset, close to the Devon border. Our oak framed house is on cycle route 3 (Land’s End to John a Groats) and there are both flat and hilly cycle routes to enjoy. Exmoor, The Blackdowns and the Quantock Hills are close by. You can also enjoy walking along quiet lanes and footpaths to the canal or walk to the Village Shop and local Pub for a meal. You can also put a canoe on the canal and enjoy a leisurely paddle. We have a large lawn with a pond where you enjoy watching the dragonflies and the fish as well as a small copse to explore.
We have two Labradors who are allowed on the ground floor. There is also an outdoor kennel which they use in summer. We have chickens and a few friendly geese in the field (a neighbour can care for them) and sometimes a small flock of sheep.

The local train station is 4 miles away, from there you can travel to London in about 2 hours, Bath about 1 hour and Exeter 30 minutes. The beautiful north and south coasts of Devon and Somerset are an hour away. Several historic National Trust properties are nearby and the area has many ancient churches on the Mary-Michael Way.

This is a friendly area to live in and you will be given a welcome if you want to join in any local events.
