Notre maison
Description de notre maison d'échange
The flat is very central, walking to all areas is simple. A modern flat 2 bedrooms and 2 Bathrooms. A separate Kitchen, lounge and verandah with seating to enjoy the scenary . Set in lovely gardens next to the River Cam there is access to River for kayaking etc from the garden. A lounge with media looks out onto and accesses the verandah through sliding doors. The lounge has a dining table for up to 4 persons. There are TVs x 2 one in Lounge one in Kitchen. Broadband is available. There is parking available if a car is felt necessary. The development of 39 apartments is accessed through an electronic gate controlled by a fob key. The garage will not be available. I only want to offer this facility as a one double bedroom with own bathroom. I may or may not be present for some of the time using my (second) bedroom. Exchange is only suitable for a couple or a single traveller.

Eights Marina is located in central Cambridge. Cycling is very popular in and around Cambridge. There is very close access to cycle paths and walks along the river. Two bikes are available or bikes can be hired if different styles/sizes are needed. Lots of local buses. Walking across Midsummer common brings you to the college and shopping areas including Lions Yard open air market square. Cinemas/theatres/museums/art/Music/science/cafes/restaurants too many to name. Festivals on different topics eg jazz /science occur at different times of the year.

Cambridge the historic University city with over 30 colleges, 16 of medieval origin, is charming and set in East Anglia.
The 'Backs' (riverside by colleges) can be punted along, preferably chauffered, allowing leisurely viewing of many of the colleges and the Wren library. Choirs can be heard at many regular practices and performances in the chapels. The Fitzwilliam museum has excellent exhibitions. The choice of restaurants is wide. If travel beyond Cambridge is contemplated trains and buses (both of which are comprehensive) go out east to Suffolk and Norfolk or to the west for St Ives and Huntingdon, home of Oliver Cromwell. To the north, north east for Sandringham, Kings Lynn and the lovely beaches of the Wash. The road system around and beyond Cambridge is good. Beyond Cambridge there are the cities of Ely and Peterborough with their incredible cathedrals. Water way systems allowing boating, paddle boarding and punting. The Imperial War museum at Duxford also includes many incredible planes and has airshows in the summer months. Buses go between Cambridge and Duxford regularly.

Cambridge and Market Harborough are available in 2019 and 2020/1. I am interested in Australia for 2019 in the Margaret RIver and Albany areas in WA. I am interested in Canada and/or Japan for 2020 and Argentina/Patagonia/Chile for 2021.
My site indicates one adult to exchange. I may be on my own as when I did my 11 exchanges in NZ over 3/12 in 2013. Often I will be with a friend(s) or relative(s) such as with the Iceland trip in 2014 with my sister. I anticipate 1 to 3 other persons visiting with me when I travel. Laura my daughter and Richard her husband; Paul my son and Catherine his wife may visit with me if free. Time available will naturally limit their time with me. Siblings and close friend are others.
