We live on the Welsh border in South West Shropshire, our area is designated as The Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our village is 3 miles away from Bishops Castle a delightful, historic, busy little market town with all of the usual amenities apart from a large supermarket and a garage which can be found in Craven Arms which is about 6 miles away. Alison is retired, but keeps busy by gardening, playing tennis and painting - she is an exhibited watercolour artist; Mark is a semi-retired solicitor who works part-time from home. We both enjoy travel (we especially visit France on a regular basis), reading, walking and fair weather bicycling. We have a young ginger cat called Henry who is very friendly and will be looking forward to food and strokes.

Description de notre maison d'échange
Our house is recently converted carriage house and stables, it is easily run with an air source heat pump and underfloor heating to keep it warm and comfortable. It has lovely views of the surrounding hills and the fields next to the house are filled with ponies and sheep. We have two courtyards adjoining the house which are lovely places to sit and relax with a coffee/wine depending on the time of day. It is a great place just to sit and just enjoy the sound of the birds and the peace of the area. We do live next door to a small, quiet and very well run riding stables.

We are situated on the Welsh Border in Southwest Shropshire, our area is designated as The Shropshire Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our village, Lydbury North is 3 miles away from Bishops Castle which is a delightful, historic, busy little market town with all the usual amenities, apart from a large supermarket and garage which can be found in Craven Arms which is about 6 miles away. The surrounding beautiful countryside is high rolling hills and scattered woodlands, it is a particularly good area for walking and there are various ancient hill forts close by to discover. We are about 5 miles from the Welsh border. Close by is the delightful village of Clun and the very attractive towns of Ludlow and Church Stretton are both about 20 minutes away.

Our main house rule is “please leave the house just as you found it”. Please do not smoke in the house. We are sorry to say that we cannot have animals to stay because of our cat.
