We live in the suburbs of Belfast by Belfast Lough approximately 6 miles from the bustling city centre with easy access to many attractions by train and road. You can travel to the beautiful and stunning North Coast in 45 mins by car and visit The UNESCO world heritage site – The Giant’s Causeway “Game of Thrones” area is approximately 90 mins by car.
Our local area is ideal for exploring the city via Northern Ireland Railways - there is a local railway halt approx. 12 minutes by foot from our home. Carrickfergus Castle – built 1180 by the Anglo-Norman Knight John de Courcy is approx. 25 minutes by bicycle on the flat cycle track or 5 minutes by train. Our village is approximately a 4 minute walk from our home. The village consists of the local deli/supermarket/Post Office along with “The Sipster” – renowned for its wines. There are also a couple of coffee shops with great views of the lough. Ladies – we have three hair /beauty salons – spoilt for choice if you want to treat yourself if the weather is inclement. The village is a hub of activity as it is located between Carrickfergus and Belfast which is perfect for cyclists and walkers alike who can avail of the cycle track/walkway which is parallel to the length of the Lough. Visit the Titanic Belfast Museum and let the history of Belfast and the Titanic take you back in time.
