Our comfortable cottage is set in countryside 15 miles north of Dumfries. Moniaive, ‘Britain’s coolest village’ according to The Times, is 3 miles away; here you’ll find a well stocked village shop, 2 pubs, a restaurant, petrol station and regular musical events.

Within half an hour’s drive you can explore the gorgeous Solway coast, the Galloway Forest Park and historic Dumfries and Burns country. The region has a vibrant artistic and creative community, and Dumfries has a range of good arts venues. Excellent road and rail links mean you are only 2 hours from Edinburgh and Glasgow and the festivals, the Lake District and Hadrian’s Wall. If you are very adventurous you are 4 ½ hours from the Highlands and 5 hours from London.

Our house is a 3 bedroom cottage, simply furnished in a mix of vintage and contemporary style with a wood burning stove. It has all the usual amenities and is child friendly. We also have a stone walled garden with an outside eating area. The river and hills are minutes away by foot and we have a couple of bikes if you fancy exploring the quiet country lanes of the area.
