Animaux de compagnie :
Rosie, a small well-behaved poochon. She is the size of a cat and has hypo-allergenic fur, she doesn't shed any fur as my husband is highly allergic to dogs and so we needed a dog who doesn't cause allergies. She doesn't.

Description de notre maison d'échange
This is our beautiful and much-loved family home in central Cambridge, on a quiet residential street. It is very child-friendly, full of games and books.
Close to Parker's Piece (2 mins walk), a swimming pool and the unique, independent shops and restaurants of Mill Road, it's a 10-15 minute walk to the historic centre of Cambridge and its tourist attractions, and a similar distance to the train station.
As it is our home, it is well-equipped with everything you will need for your stay.
The space
A newly refurbished Victorian townhouse with high ceilings, large bay windows, architectural features lots of big, airy rooms and a beautiful sunny garden.
It is designed for modern family living: there is a sound-proof glass wall between the lounge and the rest of the open plan ground floor, so adults can relax undisturbed while children play in another room.
The house has a brand new, I fully equipped eat-in kitchen with an instant boiling water tap, a large living room with a wood burner stove and a TV, an entire downstairs room for children to play board games/do arts and crafts in, a patio garden with an outdoor dining table, a BBQ and outside lighting, a digital piano, a downstairs WC and a deep, jacuzzi bath and shower bathroom.
There are three bedrooms: one en-suite master bedroom with a king size bed, and two large single bedrooms.
There is a small dog-flap to a secure garden. Dogs are welcome.
All newly decorated (August 2021).
The house also comes with high speed broadband wi-fi and ceiling fans are provided for hot weather.
There is a fantastic public swimming pool nearby (3 mins' walk, 3 pools including two for children) and on the top of the building (called Kelsey Kerridge), there is an amazing hot tub which has fantastic views out over Cambridge. (You have to pay non-member daily rates to access it, but it's worth it!)
We also really recommend Mill Road Cemetery, which is one of the undiscovered gems of Cambridge that only locals know about - it's an old Victorian cemetery that is now a beautiful nature reserve. Very close to the house.
On top of all that, obviously you have all the colleges within a 15-20 minute walk, including King's College chapel. As for eating out, there is an insane number of restaurants on your doorstep on Mill Road. Midsummer Common and the river Cam are also only a short stroll away.
Other things to note:
Sadly we are not able to welcome guests with infants and children under 2.
Parking is on the street and costs £3 a day. Each day you will have to fill in a paper permit giving you permission to park in a resident’s space. Please note parking is not guaranteed, you will have to look for a space in the allocated residents spaces (although we usually do find one within a few minutes). Once you have arrived, you may find it’s easier to leave the car and walk (as we are so central) or hire a bicycle or electric scooter, both of which are readily available and a fun way to travel around Cambridge.

Nos conseils pour des restaurants, cafés, shopping et activitiés à ne pas manquer
Visit the famous King's College Chapel, St John's College and Trinity. Take a punt along the river Cam and see the Backs. Enjoy an iced bun as Fizzbillies. Visit the 11 Cambridge University museums. Plus there's Kettle's Yard art gallery and the beautiful Grantchester meadows nearby.
Ce qu'on apprécie, ce qu'on apprécie moins… Voici nos préférences et nos règles de maison.
We ask our guests to please take off their shoes before they go upstairs. It is fine to wear shoes downstairs if you want to.
We have a dog - a very small hypoallergenic poodle-cross - so it's fine to bring your dog.
Please leave the house neat and tidy and wash any dishes/load the dishwasher before you go. Please do not leave your leftover food in the fridge or in our cupboards.
