Notre maison

Description de notre maison d'échange

We built our home 8 years ago on the beachfront to suit the needs of older people, with space for children and grandchildren to stay. It’s a comfortable 220 square metre home with stunning views from the main bedroom and the living areas. The white sand beach in front of us is perfect for walking, swimming and fishing. It’s 50 minutes by car to NZ’s capital city, Wellington, and 90 minutes’ drive to the renowned wine district of Martinborough. Paraparaumu Links Golf Course, one of NZ’s premier courses, is 15 minutes drive away.

Description de notre quartier et ses alentours

We live in a quiet neighbourhood with a number of cafes and bars within walking distance, a shopping centre with 2 supermarkets, a pharmacy, medical centre and cinema 5 minutes drive away. With the beach right in front of us it’s a beautiful and restful place to live.
There are good cycle tracks, lots of walking tracks and bush walks as well as many hill tramping tracks close by for the more active.

It is a short walk along the beach, or the road, to several cafes, a great bakery and corner stores for bread and milk type supplies.
Walking on the beach at any tide is lovely. It’s 40 minutes to the Waikanae River mouth going south or you can walk for many kilometres going north if you wish.
The Waikanae golf course is 15 mins walk or 5 mins drive away.
