We are in the quiet neighbourhood of Mount Pleasant, with lovely views North up the coastline to Kaikoura and West to the Southern Alps. There is an expansive network of walking and biking tracks in the nearby Port Hills. Across the road from our house you can take a steep walking track (Drayton Track) to the bottom of our hill and the Mount Pleasant Community Centre. This not for profit community owned centre operates a cafe and recreational activities, as well as outdoor markets in the summer months. From the bottom of our hill, there is a scenic cycleway along the coast to Redcliffs village and Sumner beach. Within a 5 minute drive, there is a neighbourhood shopping village at Ferrymead with a supermarket, Post Office, chemist, cafes and restaurants. There are good road networks and cycleways in to the city and beyond.
