Notre maison

Description de notre maison d'échange

We live in the White Rock/South Surrey area, a suburb of Vancouver BC. We are on a peaceful cul-de-sac, walking distance to several beaches, shopping and restaurants. We have a hot tub in our private back yard. A car is available. Downtown Vancouver is about 40 minutes away by car, and public transit to Vancouver is less than a block away. Many people in our neighbourhood commute to downtown Vancouver to work using our bus & skytrain system, accessed a 2 minute walk away. Whistler Mtn is 3 hours away, the local ski mountains are 1 hour away. These mountains are full of wonderful hiking trails. Try the Grouse Grind in the summer months, and there are many easier hikes nearby as well. White Rock and Crescent Beach are each 5 minutes away by car. We like to walk down to the beach for lunch or dinner as there are many wonderful restaurants overlooking the ocean. People who we have exchanged with have also visited Vancouver Island, to explore and do whale-watching excursions.

Description de notre quartier et ses alentours

We live on a quiet cul-de-sac of 13 West Coast Contemporary homes. The area is filled with linear parks (walking trails) and we have a treed area in the center of the loop. We are a mixture of retired couples and young families, with lots of kids in the area. It is quiet and very green. The neighbours are wonderful and will welcome our exchange friends!

We are in a quiet spot, yet only about 5 minute walk to Ocean Park Village Center, which has all the amenities & services we need, plus numerous restaurants. The bus to Vancouver is 2 minutes away. We can walk to the beaches, either Crescent Beach or White Rock Beach. In addition to the attractions we add to this site, we will leave lots of information in our House Book plus brochures from our tourist info center for you.

Please no smoking in the house, but outside is fine, of course. We have had cats and dogs in the house in the past, but not for 15 years, so prefer no pets.
