Gavin (Perryman) and Joan (Cowderoy) are retired professionals, now living on the waterfront in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Both of us were active in western Canada in the non-profit sector for many years. In recent years, we have traveled through Latin America and Canada. In 2018, we were in Hong Kong and New Zealand. As we travel, we listen, converse, learn, walk, explore, read, and write. We love to listen to music, hike and cycle, and spend time with our five grandchildren who live on the east and west coasts of Canada. We are looking forward to a month in Portugal in May of 2019, to returning to New Zealand in 2020, and to finding a new adventure in AUstralia after New Zealand.

New modern apartment overlooking Dartmouth Cove, with plenty of natural light, modern appliances, comfortable beds, and easy walking access to the many restaurants of downtown Dartmouth, a public library, a farmers' market, a 15 minute ferry ride to downtown Halifax, and a walking trail along the Dartmouth waterfront. A perfect location for visiting the Halifax and Dartmouth area, exploring Nova Scotia, and relaxing over a glass of wine.

Description de notre quartier et ses alentours
Our apartment is close to the small urban downtown of Dartmouth, with many new restaurants, craft breweries, and places to walk and sit. The nearby ferry (ten minutes walk away) to Halifax runs regularly all day and evening, making it easy to explore the Halifax waterfront and downtown, and its various craft brewery pubs and fine dining restaurants, interesting specialty shops, diverse art galleries and museums and a spectacular family friendly science centre. Both the MacDonald Bridge over to Halifax and local highways are close by, making it easy to reach the airport, and explore different parts of the region and Nova Scotia. Dartmouth and Halifax, and Nova Scotia is a land of beautiful lakes and rivers, beaches and ocean everywhere, interesting communities and friendly people, all waiting to be explored on foot, by bike, or by car.

From our apartment, you can walk to the Dartmouth downtown, with new restaurants and boutique stores emerging every month. Or, you could walk to the Alderney ferry terminal to explore the art, cultural, architectural, and restaurant attractions of the Halifax waterfront and downtown. Or, you could set out for a longer walk along the Dartmouth waterfront to the Woodside ferry terminal, and loop back home via Halifax and two short walk-on ferry rides. Or you can cycle and drive to nearby parks and lakes to walk in the sun.
