Description de notre maison d'échange
Our home is located in a typical small old village (the chapel dates back from the twelfth century) close to Brive-la-Gaillarde in Corrèze, Nouvelle-Aquitaine. It has its own unique character with its stone walls and slate roof.
We don’t live there but the house is equipped to live in, and as we are really into cooking, you’ll find everything you need in the kitchen.
You will also find sunlit rooms, and choose either one of the large bedrooms with its own shower room upstairs in the ancient attic or a smaller one but on the ground floor with a shower and a bathtub.
If you want to experience the French countryside and its authenticity, this place is made for you ! But if you are afraid of becoming too much like a French peasant and miss the city, we also offer you to stay in an apartment we occuppy occasionnally near the center of Bordeaux.

Description de notre quartier et ses alentours
You will stay in a typical old village in the center of France, in the middle of the countryside. A few years ago, the village was still occupied by many (old) farmers whose specialty was the breeding of milk calves. Nowadays, most of them have stopped their activities but the landscape is still marked by that time and you can enjoy the view on beautiful and typical old farms and large fields.
One of our neighbors is still active and you will surely have the privilege to see cows right under your windows.
Although the village is old, its population is dynamic and the people around are very friendly and helpful. You will probably have the chance to witness (or be taken in) one of the wild games of petanque that are regularly played near the house between neighbors.
However, don't worry, you will be close to the city and all its facilities (15 minutes by car), where in addition to finding all the usual French stores, you will be able to discover the "marché de Brive" a big farmers' market which takes place on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday of each week where you can taste all the culinary specialties of central France.
