We live in a 5,500sq ft. heritage home (built in 1897 named Lochnagar) in a heritage neighbourhood with many large historic homes and parks. We live directly across from a lovely park with a duck pond and Queens Park, a 75 acre park, is one block away. It is very beautiful and safe neighbourhood to walk through.
The house won the New Westminster heritage restoration award in 2007 and is still being restored to its 1897 grandeur, and has many antiques and all modern conveniences. For example, you can sit out on the old porch and enjoy your coffee or retire to the large, private backyard for a BBQ(natural gas). A family of squirrels and raccoons live in the large maple trees in the back yard. Sleep in the 150 year old brass bed (all new mattresses), that looks out the upper storey bay window onto a breath taking view of the Fraser River and North Shore Mountains. Escape to the 'Anne of Green Gables' attic hideaway for a bath in the claw foot tub.
