Hello travelers!
We are a couple who would love to experience the local life of Berlin, Germany. We are looking for an exchange this summer, ideally for two months in Berlin, but we are open to any offer in central Europe.
About us :
Jean-Louis was born in Québec and has lived here all his life. He has traveled in Europe and in the USA and would love the chance to experience a longer stay in Europe. Katharina was born in Berlin but moved to Québec City when she was 6 years old. She has been to Europe many times to travel or visit her family and would really love to live the local life in Berlin.
We enjoy walks, sightseeing, football (soccer) (mainly Jean-Louis, though), museums, board games and, most of all, taking care of our friends and family. We also take great pride into our living space and try to make it as enjoyable as possible.
We both work for an advertising agency in Québec, Jean-Louis as a Web developer and Katharina as a project manager and planner. We have been working from home for a couple of years now and wish to continue to work during our exchange.

Description de notre maison d'échange
Our apartment is on the third and last floor of the building, with two independent entrances. It has 1 master bedroom with a queen bed, 1 second bedroom with a full size foldable bed that allows you to use the space as an home office, 1 large kitchen with all appliances (refrigerator, oven and dishwasher), 1 dining room that can welcome 6 guests, 1 living room with another small working space and 1 cozy TV room (Netflix, Crave and Disney+ on Xbox one) with a very comfy couch. The bathroom, while small, is fully equipped with a bath (and shower). The frontal washing machine and dryer are located in the kitchen and are used as an extra countertop. We put a great deal of love into decorating the space and take care of multiple beautiful interior plants! It has a fresh coat of paint all over and the ceilings are 9 feet high.
The apartment is equipped with two balconies. In the back, wake up with the morning sun and a view. On clear days, you can see the Chateau Frontenac! The back balcony is also equipped with a kettle charcoal BBQ. The sun circulates around the building and lights up the rooms all day long. Finish your day on the back balcony for a great summer night dinner, as the sun sets behind the neighboring buildings.

Description de notre quartier et ses alentours
Our apartment is located in the center of one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of the beautiful Québec City: Limoilou. The building is next to everything you need (grocery store, drugstore, hardware store, restaurants, bakeries, cafes, bars, local market) and a short walk or bike ride to beautiful urban parks (Cartier-Brébeuf, Maizerets, Victoria). There are multiple sport facilities nearby (Public indoor and exterior pools, soccer fields, basketball courts and the brand new YMCA is at a 15-20 minutes walk). The neighborhood is also full of artisan shops and, in the summer, the main street is turned into a farmer's market on Sundays!
While one of the most vibrant and active neighborhoods, Limoilou is also the home of many young families and a very calm and safe sector, like a small city inside the city.

Nos conseils pour des restaurants, cafés, shopping et activitiés à ne pas manquer
While you might be tempted to spend all your stay in Limoilou, other neighborhoods also have a lot to offer. A 15-25 minutes walk will bring you to Saint-Roch or Saint-Sauveur to discover restaurants, breweries, bars and other local shops for a full urban experience. A 30-45 minutes walk to reach and explore the marvelous Old City (Vieux-Québec) and the famous Chateau Frontenac. Our building is also right next to bus lines (19, 28, 36, 800, 801) that you can use to travel further or quicker (10-15 minutes to the Old City). Highway access is also very easy, in and out.
You will also have access to our car, a 2016 Kia Rio, and will not be far away from the following locations :
Île d'Orléans - 20 minutes by car
Chute Montmorency - 20 minutes by car
Airport - 35-40 minutes by car
Parc National de la Jacques-Cartier - 45 minutes by car
Montréal - 2,5 hours by car

Ce qu'on apprécie, ce qu'on apprécie moins… Voici nos préférences et nos règles de maison.
We have many plants that need good care. We also have great relationships with the neighbors and would like to keep it this way! We are usually quiet and respectful of the neighbors regarding noise level and party time. We keep the apartment clean and would love to find it clean when we get back.
