Mount Martha is a small, friendly village that offers good shopping with a selection of tempting little eateries, as well as tennis, golf, bowls, and sailing clubs and a life saving club. A safe, sandy swimming beach lined with colourful bathing boxes stretches from north to south of the village. Leading inland from the beach is a foreshore reserve offering a peaceful boardwalk with an audio trail along the Balcombe Creek Wetlands - home to a rich selection of bird life. Within a short radius of Mount Martha, there are many fine wineries, restaurants and golf courses for which the Mornington Peninsula is renowned. What is less well known is that this unspoilt area also offers good fishing, sailing, surfing, horseback riding, bushwalking, swimming with the dolphins/seals, fruit picking, truffle hunting, glassblowing and many sculpture parks.
