Three "true Berliners by birth" - now a hard to find species in the capital. Friendly, affable and always interested in like-minded people, we have been traveling to Great Britain for the last fifteen years. It is fair to say we might be a tad anglophile. Another favorite destination of ours is the Balitc Sea with its endless sandy beaches and nice costal villages. We prefer baking over cooking - a typical Sunday morning usually includes home-baked "Schrippen" (rolls) with homemade jam and freshly prepared pancakes with maple syrup.

Description de notre maison d'échange
Welcome to Tempelhof a quiet but nice district in the south west of Berlin. Our apartment is located at a beautiful crossing facing a charming corner shop café, a small ice cream parlor and an elementary school. Close by is the famous UFA-Fabrik (alternative culture center) and if you are in for the city centre take the next U6 for a trip to Friedrichstraße (12 minutes to Stadtmitte, 15 minutes to Friedrichstraße). We love books - reading, writing and collecting them wherever we go. Same goes for contemporary art and vintage furniture that we wholeheartedly adopt when we find it in galleries, at yard sales, street corners or when they show up at our doorstep.

Description de notre quartier et ses alentours
We have been living in our exceptionally family friendly house for the last nine years. We appreciate our neighbors and some have even become close friends that we regularly invite over for breakfast or "Kaffee und Kuchen" in the afternoon. If you are lucky Andrej may ask you to join one of his legendary barbecues or Jihan could invite you to a typical Kurdish breakfast. In case you need to learn more about Croatia do not hesitate to ask Tanja from the top floor.

What we love about this part of Tempelhof are its parks, cafés, department stores and little shops. As Tempelhof is a part of Berlin that is still transforming itself from a typical working-class neighborhood to a relaxed family place you will meet people of all ages and countries around the globe. So do not be surprised to hear Italien, Indian, Russian, Polish, Turkish or a lot of English in the streets. With the "U-Bahn and S-Bahn" near our place it is easy to travel to other parts of the city using public transport. If you prefer to explore Tempelhof you will finde a lot of unique places in walking distance.

As we like reading and writing you will finde quite a few books in our apartment that you are free to read at any time. We do not currently own a TV (too much rubbish) but would gladly provide you with our Netflix access.
