Our town is very quiet and the house is pretty close to everything-- we are 2 blocks from the train which takes you directly into Paris (RER line A - Etoile).

The house is 5mn away from the cute town center of Maisons Laffitte, with its shops, bakeries and cafes. The main street, Avenue Longeuil, has small shops (butchers, cheese, wine, bakeries, patisseries, etc.,) as well as a major supermarket. There is also a cinema which often shows first-run movies in English.

Farmers market is every Wednesday and Saturday.
It is also really close to a park with basket-ball and tennis courts, soccer field, archery, skate park and the river Seine where the family can enjoy nice walks or bike rides.

The town also has a tennis club, golf course, and is bordered by the St Germain Forest.

Maisons-Laffitte is famous for the Château de Maisons-Laffitte, built by architect François Mansart in the 17th century. Maisons-Laffitte is also known for its horse racing track, the Hippodrome de Maisons-Laffitte, which is why the town is known as the "cité du cheval".

The town also hosts an International School (preK - 12th) so there is a strong English-speaking community in our town. There is an Anglophone church up the street from our house, plus several pubs/restaurants that show English football/soccer games.

The train into Paris runs roughly every 10 minutes, and is direc to Charles de Gaule/Etoile (for the Champs Elysees), Chatelet- Les Halles (for the Louvre) and even goes direct to Disneyland (Marne-La Vallée)!
