We are an active family of 5, who love to travel and see other cultures. We enjoy walking to vibrant, new places. We like the outdoors -- especially camping -- and we LOVE our two cats, Tassie and Babu.

Visit our fully-equipped, 100-year-old brick house with a large yard, and easy walking distance to the social and commercial hub of Waterloo. The main floor is a newly-renovated, open-concept space, merging the kitchen, dining room and living room. We have 3 bedrooms on the 2nd floor (1 queen bed, and 2 double beds), in addition to multiple other sofabeds in various rooms throughout the house. We also have 2 cats to keep you company, but have neighbours that can watch them as you travel.

We live in an historic residential neighbourhood of Waterloo. You're just a 5-minute walk from the urban core, with its restaurants, shops, banks, social square, and light-rail station where you can take the train across the city. The neighbourhood is quiet and pedestrian-friendly. You can also walk to Waterloo Park and a public swimming pool in 10 minutes. A 1-hour drive will also take you into Toronto.

Walk to the social centre of Waterloo in just 5 minutes. Visit Saint Jacob's Farmers Market to see old-order Mennonites selling their wares. Experience early life in Canada at the Waterloo Region Museum and Doon Heritage Museum. Take a trip into Toronto, just 100km east. You can get there by bus, train, or by car. A 2-hour drive will get you to Niagara Falls, one of the 8 natural wonders of the world. We are also about 2 hours from the United States of America. Ottawa (Canada's capital) is a 6-hour drive. Kitchener-Waterloo also has a very large German population.
Waterloo is close to many of the Great Lakes, the largest group of freshwater lakes in the world. Drive 1:45 west to the coast of Lake Huron and enjoy the quaint towns and gorgeous camping. Drive north to Georgian Bay to see its crystal-blue waters, beaches, and Canadian shield rocks; the Grotto near Tobermory is spectacular! Or drive 80 minutes, along the south coast of Lake Ontario into the Niagara wine region.

We have 2 cats that need minimal care; but we have friends in the neighbourhood that can look after the cats while you travel. Our house is not really suitable for young children who might fall down stairs.
