We are a nearly retired couple with connections to Melbourne, Australia as our daughter now lives there with her husband and new baby. Although we are more immediately interested in Melbourne, we are interested in a range of countries over time including the UK, New Zealand, Europe and Canadian destinations such as Tofino, Haida Gwai, and the Maritime provinces. Ours is a comfortable, bright and cosy 3 bedroom home within walking distance of all amenities and Lower Lonsdale - the bustling commercial, arts and foodie hub of North Vancouver. North Van is a 12 minute sea bus ride from the Vancouver, offering a smaller town experience next to the big city. North Vancouver is nestled at the base of three mountain, all with easy access to an extensive network of walking/hiking, mountain biking and skiing trails. We are ideally located for exploring the supernatural sights of Vancouver, the North Shore, and Howe Sound including Whistler - an international year round resort - a spectacular 90 minute drive up Howe Sound on the Sea to Sky highway. In addition to the draw of nature's bounty, we are close to transit and all the attractions of the Lower Mainland - shopping, theatres, sailing, beaches, botanical gardens, art galleries, golf, sporting facilities, and endless options for great foodie experiences. We are 2 hours from beautiful Vancouver Island, 90 minutes from Whistler, 3 1/2 hours to Seattle. Our extensive BC Ferry system links residents and travellers to an endless range of smaller island destinations, each with their own charm.
