Beautifully restored village maison in the centre of an active village with history dating back to the Cathars. Directly opposite the 12th century church, the house has been beautifully decorated and is ideal for a family with older children, or couples holidaying.
Belpech is just 1 hour from Toulouse international airport and train station, and 45 minutes from Carcassonne airport.
2 hours from the Spanish border, less than 4 hours from Barcelona or San Sebastian, 2 hours to the French Mediterranean, 1.5 hours to Andorra and just 20 minutes to the Bastide town of Mirepoix.
Popular with walkers and historians, Belpech is within easy reach of countless day trips, including caves with prehistoric paintings and the Pyrenees. It has two bakers (the best, at our back gate), an excellent butcher / providor, a cafe/bar, an epicerie, pharmacy, and a small supermarket, all within 50 metres of our home

Ympäristön kuvailu
Belpech is a small active Cathar village in the middle of a beautiful rural area. The town has 2 bakeries, the best virtually at our back gate, a very good butcher who also stocks essentials and wine, a chemist and 2 doctors. The Vixiege runs through Belpech and gives its name to our only cafe/bar. Our house is in the centre of the village, across the road from a 12th century church. The village is essentially and charmingly French, with very few English speakers. The locals are warm and welcoming.

Within an hour's drive there are too many sites to list. From World Heritage Churches to prehistoric caves with paintings dating back 14,000 years. Hundreds of beautiful villages as well as the towns of Carcassonne, Foix, Limoux and Toulouse. Albi with its Abbey being the alrgest brick structure in the world, is just 1.5 hours away, as is the Mediterreanen Coast
