An wonderful exchange in an ideal location.
We loved our time in this Halifax region, and the opportunity to explore the rest of Nova Scotia. The home is particularly comfortable and in an wonderful location with panoramic views. Excellent hosts who were most generous in providing for our happiness during a memorable exchange.

We are an active retired couple who enjoy bird-watching, gardening and walking. Mike is a great cook and Suzanne loves to paint in watercolour and acrylics. We enjoy long walks especially along seashores and gentle biking and hiking. We have had wonderful exchanges with California, England, New York, New Zealand and Australia. We have already explored Western Canada as we have family there. Usually we exchange with other couples, however, we would welcome the opportunity to include our son, his wife and two wonderful, well behaved granddaughters aged 10 and 11 in future exchanges. We have a spacious family Honda Odyssey van, perfect for touring a family around. We have a large home and vehicle that will accommodate up to six people comfortably.

Beautiful Atlantic beaches and stunning views of St Margaret's Bay await you at "Puffin Burrow", our lovely home by the sea. Swim in our crystal clear waters or walk along our sandy shores. Soak up the sun and enjoy refreshing summer breezes on our decks. Have a relaxing afternoon tea in our solarium. Savour the freshest seafood, especially lobster, clams and scallops at local café and restaurants. Use our bicycles or hike along the popular coastal trails near our home. Enjoy great kayaking along our coastal waters, especially in area around the famous Peggy's Cove Lighthouse. We are 40 minutes from the airport and centrally located for exploring Nova Scotia, Canada's Ocean Playground. Use our comfortable van to visit fishing villages and historic sites in Halifax, Lunenburg, Grand Pré and Annapolis Royal. 1.5 hours to Annapolis Valley and the Bay of Fundy, famous for apples, wine and the world's highest tides. A few more hours drive will take to Cape Breton's spectacular Cabot Trail, the Fortress of Louisburg or the neighbouring provinces of New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Enjoy whale-watching, fishing, golfing, sailing, as well as folk art and Celtic festivals.
We already have arrangements to exchange with southern Scotland in September 2020.
In 2021 we have an exchange with Auckland for the America's Cup Sailing Races from March 6 to 21, 2021. We would like to arrange a second back-to-back exchange in New Zealand in a different location on either the North or South Island. Coming to Nova Scotia in March and April is usually a chilly and snowy experience so we would be willing to arrange a non simultaneous exchange and make our home available in warmer weather.

Our country home is situated high up on a forested ridge overlooking the sparkling waters of the bay. We have helpful friendly neighbours who live in custom homes on large lots in a quiet area. Several beaches, junior and senior sailing clubs and coastal trails are located minutes away.

We have made arrangements for an exchange with Auckland in March 6-21, 2021 to see the America's Cup Sailing Races. Afterwards we would like to visit other parts of NZ and have a second back-to-back exchange. If you like snow and cold weather you would be welcome for a simultaneous exchange, especially if you like to experience shoveling snow and other exciting winter sports. However you may prefer a non-simultaneous exchange so that you could come to our home in summer June to September to enjoy the beaches and warm weather or October when our famous maple leaves turn gorgeous colours.
