It will be difficult to exchange this year but why not spend some time in Holland in 2021? It is close to the UK so no need to travel far. We are looking forward to exchanges in the UK and Ireland any time next year. Our lovely period house is in the middle of The Netherlands. Gouda is ideal for exploring historic towns and countryside by car or public transport. Use our sturdy bikes for easy trips a trips through the polders with old farms and pretty villages. Gouda (yes cheese) is a pretty historic town. A five minutes' walk brings you into the town centre with good shops and many restaurants. Other interesting towns are Delft, Leiden and The Hague. If you are interested in maritime history and modern architecture go to Rotterdam. Major towns are all 20 to 30 kms from our home. If you want to visit Amsterdam take the train, it's only 50 minutes. Public transport is excellent and the railway station is close to our house. You don't even have to bring your car as previous exchangers experienced.
