We live in a quiet residential neighborhood, a few blocks from the Golden Gate Park and within walking distance of the Golden Gate Park attractions - the De Young Museum, the California Academy of Science, Conservatory of Flowers, Botanical Gardens, and the Japanese Tea Garden.

The area is known as the 'Richmond District' and is on the west side of San Francisco - we are 4 miles from downtown and 2.5 miles from Ocean Beach. It is a quiet, safe, family-friendly area, with lots within walking distance. There are several playgrounds in the area and many, many ethnic restaurants (Chinese, Thai, Burmese, Moroccan, Japanese, etc.) within walking distance. Peet's coffee shop, Walgreens, Joe's Ice Cream, pizza parlor within a couple of blocks. The Presidio and Lincoln golf courses and a very scenic hike on the Land’s End trail are nearby.

A car is not essential, as the frequent bus services (bus #'s 31, 28, 38, 5) can bring you to downtown San Francisco, Ocean Beach, the Golden Gate Bridge, about 20-35 minutes in any direction.

However, if you wanted to explore the Bay Area, we do have a parking space for one car in the garage and are just five minutes drive from the Golden Gate Bridge, with easy access to the Marin Headlands, Sausalito, Muir Woods and the Wine Country (Sonoma and Napa).
