The area is also great for all kinds of outdoor activities: hiking, biking, canoeing, horse riding. If you don't have our bikes with you, you can use our bikes (good ones).

Nürnberg is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, with a rich history. The medeaval castle is gorgeous, the city's downtown quite cozy for a city this size (500.000 inhabitants): many half-timber houses, bridges ("Venice of the north") and scenic beer gardens. It has great museums (national history, modern arts and design, toy museum, etc.), it was home of Albrecht Dürer (his family's house is now a museum). Of course, Nürnberg is also famous for it's Nazi past, yet shows great attitude in dealing with this dark period. The remnents of the Nazi party rallying grounds and the adjacent museum are worth visiting.

The area north and east of Nürnberg (that's where we live) – called Franconian Swiss for its rolling landscape - is quite attractive for great outdoors activities. Biking is great fun here. In the area around Röthenbach there are 20 marked bike round trip trails (easily accessible by bike or train). The area is also known for the greatest number of small family breweries worldwide. (There is even a "beer hiking guide"!)

If you want to travel a litle bit: München is 170 kilometers away (or an hour train ride from Nürnberg), the Alps are with 2,5 hours reach.
