Sopot is a part of Tricity district, three popular resort cities - historical Gdańsk and modern fishing Gdynia. All 3 of them are seaside and Sopot is just in between them both, which makes about 30 min ride to see either one of them. You can also take a cheap ferry to discover polish Peninsula called Hel.
The apartment location itself is quiet and suitable for resting and for children as well. There are parks and playgrounds nearby, private parking space and a bus station just in front of the building.
