West Vancouver is a charming, up scale waterfront community a few kilometers over the Lions Gate Bridge from Vancouver. From the deck of my apartment (with its own front door, no elevator) one can see views of the ocean, city, mountains, Lions Gate Bridge, and Stanley Park. Vancouver is a world class city, which you may remember was host of the 2010 Winter Olympics. There are three ski resorts as well as boating facilities within a few kilometers of my apartment. Whistler, one of the top ski resorts in North America, is only an hour and a half away by automobile. Nearby is the beach, golfing, restaurants, and cultural events.
Seattle, in the United States, is a three hour drive, and charming Victoria, the capital of our province British Columbia, is an hour and three quarters away by ferry.
The weather in Vancouver is amongst the mildest in Canada.
