Our neighbourhood has large lot sizes and larger homes and lots of trees between the houses. Many residents walk their dogs or ride their bicycles around our 1.2 km, flat community. We all have access to a fresh water lake with great fishing, sand beach that has a small playground at it, as well and a covered picnic area and chairs for everyone to use. There is a small airport for tiny planes nearby, a golf course, hiking and biking trails, and it is only a 20 minute walk along the York River into the main town. We have canoes for your use at our motor boat-free lake. Our town has a public tennis court. Bancroft has a beautiful theatre called the Village Playhouse which hosts dramatic and musical productions all summer long with an outdoor patio area.
