Read More...We love York and Tracy and Keith’s home could not be in a more perfect location! A very smart apartment in a gated community, spotlessly clean and tidy, comfortable and very tastefully furnished overlooking the River Foss. Literally minutes to the main tourist attractions, cultural locations, shops, cafés and restaurants, it afforded us a wonderful few days.
We are Vegans who try hard to eat only a healthy diet and worry about offending exchange partners if we don’t eat the food they leave, so we particularly asked Tracy and Keith not to leave food. They left us other gifts though and we returned home to the most splendid welcome home gift.
We met up with Tracy and Keith half way between our homes and enjoyed their company over a cup of tea while they gave us useful information and we exchanged keys.
It was fun watching the swans, ducks and other wildlife from their balcony in the morning and evenings and witnessing the changing light as the sun reflected on the water and historic building opposite (for which they provided the history).
What more can I say - a perfect exchange!
