Our area is called 'Pajottenland': The surroundings are rural, gently sloping with typically Belgian draft horses in the fields. You can make very nice walks here! The region is also very popular with cyclists. If you are not afraid of a few hills, you can give it a shot. We can provide 2 bikes for children. We don't have bikes for adults, but we can try to arrange bikes for you if you would like that.

5 minutes by car to the centre of Dilbeek with a park with a beautiful castle and a playground. The 'Wolfsputten' (a nature reserve with beautiful flowers, depending on the season) are also worth a visit.
10 minutes by car to Gaasbeek with it's historic castle with an art and furniture museum, and a park with a 17th century pleasure pavilion. In the 'cremerie' you can eat the best ice cream of the area.

Brussels: 10 km
Ghent, Antwerp and Leuven: 50 km
Bruges, called 'Venice of the North' because of the picturesque canals: 90 km
Oostende, by the coast: 100 km. We have a second home there, an apartment by the beach. If the apartment is free, you can also use it during your stay. Just let us know in time if you would like that. (For details you can check our other listing)

Paris: 315 km
All the cities I mentioned can be reached by public transport. If you prefer to use our car, a car exchange is also a possibility.

In Belgium, we also have the 'Ardennen', a region with woods and hills where you can go hiking, kayaking... About 1.30hr by car.

We have a few theme parks as well (Walibi, Bellewaerde, Plopsaland), all more or less 1 hr drive
