Clive and Val Faulkner are a retired couple who are looking forward to enjoying extensive travel experiences throughout the world. Val has recently retired from having worked at a University for the past 20 years, as well as a teacher prior to that. Clive has been retired for a number of years but previously worked in the the finance industry for over 40 years. We have 2 adult sons and 2 wonderful grandchildren.
We enjoy an active retirement and look forward to plenty of walking, swimming and if possible playing croquet in the places that we swap to. We are keen to engage in non-simultaneous swaps as we have a home in the City of Perth WA as well as a country residence on the south coast of WA. The best time to travel to Australia is either in Spring or Summer.
We have been home owners for over 40 years and know how to maintain and care for a home which is something we would appreciate in return. We are looking forward to joining the HomeLink family.

Our second home is a double story inner-city residence in Perth - the capital city of Western Australia. The original house (lower story) is 80 years old and possesses the charm of the 1930s. The second addition was completed in 2007 and comprises of 2 bedrooms, bathroom and lounge area. The lower floor is available for exchange and visitors are more than welcome to sit upstairs and enjoy the view of the city skyline, especially at night.
On the lower level there are 2 bedrooms (large master bedroom plus second smaller room), a study, bathroom (incl. toilet) open plan kitchen, dining and lounge, as well as a utility room and a second WC. The house belongs to a set of units, though it stands alone on a small easy care block. There is a front verandah which is perfect for sitting and reading or capturing the winter sun plus a small courtyard. There is also a double, secure garage for the car.

Preston Street is busy entertainment hub. You will find restaurants, cafes, tavern, butchery, supermarket, clothing boutiques and a heritage listed cinema - the Cygnet Theatre. There are buses travelling into the CBD of the city (Perth) every 15 or 30 minutes depending on whether it is the week or weekend. At the end of the street there is a bridge that takes walkers over the freeway to a jetty on the Canning River - a place people catch a cool breeze or have a go at throwing out a fishing line. If you are a keen walker you can stretch out and head to the Swan River and catch a ferry across the the CBD of Perth where there are many cultural and heritage attractions.
We are offering the opportunity to swap cars but the area lends itself to walking and using public transport.
We share the block of land with 2 other units (though our place is a detached house and very private) with quiet and considerate neighbours.

From our house it is a short walk to restaurants, cafes and entertainment. It is also very easy to access the Swan and Canning River and either by car or bus it is easy to find your way to Kings Park or Fremantle.
