We are an Italian family: my partner Paolo and I are both researchers for the Italian National Municipality Association: Paolo is specialized in urban policies/urban innovation studies, I am specialized in migration.
Our two children, Caterina (born 2007) and Adriano (born 2010), just like their parents, love travelling, are curious about other cultures and ways of life, and like visiting new places and meeting different people.
We have already made some wonderful exchanges with families from Berlin, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Bremen, Cape Town, Provence, and we are looking for new experiences in other places. We like taking care of our home, and will do the same with yours.

Spacious 1600 ft. penthouse (5th floor with elevator) in central Rome with beautiful large terrace (645 ft.) and 2 balconies. It's full of light with 12 windows: kitchen and living room have access to terrace and balcony, all bedrooms except one have access to balcony. Located in lovely historical Garbatella district, our home has all amenities and stunnig views. Comfortable, recently renovated, with air conditioning in all rooms, wooden floors, marble bathroom tyles. 3 minutes walking distance from subway station. Only 10 minutes away from major attractions such as the Colosseum (3 metro stops), Aventino hill Caracalla Roman baths and Circus Maximus (2 metro stops), San Paolo church (1 metro stop or walking distance), Santa Maria Maggiore basilica (4 stops), Monti district (4 stops), Termini station (5 stops), the roman Pyramid and Ostiense station (1 stop or walking distance). Other major tourist attractions like Saint Peter and the Vatican, San Giovanni basilica, the Spanish steps, Piazza del Popolo, Trevi fountain are easily reachable by bus or by changing metro line at Termini station. Our apartment is very comfortable, fully equipped and perfect for enjoying a typycal Roman experience. Modern and spacious, with a big living/dining room, fully equipped kitchen with microwave oven, induction cooker and dishwasher, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms with windows (one with jacuzzi bathtub), and a beautiful terrace where you can enjoy your meals or relax after you spent the day visiting Rome. Air conditioning in all rooms, high speed wi-fi, Netflix, Amazon Prime video, Disney+, BBQ. We plan to put a small pool in the terrace for hot summer days and nights. We are experienced exchangers from 2013. At the moment we are looking exclusively for New York city exchange in July 2022. Non simoultaneous exchange possible in August 2022. Our housekeeper will take care of the cats for 4 days a week and do the house cleaning (except in August), she can cook some meals if you wish. Car available sometimes

Garbatella has been celebrated by the Financial Times as "Rome’s charming garden suburb with its' brightly coloured streets, secret green spaces and traditional trattorias". It's a hystorical neighbourhood founded in 1920, with small buildings, gardens, public parks and lots of typical restaurants and pizzerias. Very close to the historical centre, it's safe, animated and full of life but not crowded like other historical areas in Rome, such as Trastevere or Campo de' Fiori. Shops are at small walking distance (groceries, pharmacy, banks, gelaterie, coffee bars and restaurants at 2 minutes walking), local farmer's market on weekends at 10 minutes walking distance or 1 subway stop (we have a shopping cart so it's easy to carry home your groceries). We love to walk around and discover hidden corners every time. It's a safe neighbourhood, very typical. All major attractions of the city are reacheable by subway, wich is at 3 minutes walking distance: Colosseo, Circus Maximus and Aventino hill, Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica, the roman Pyramid, Termini station, San Paolo Basilica, Monti district are on our Metro line, while to reach Saint Peter and the Vatican, Trevi fountain, Piazza di Spagna, San Giovanni Basilica, the Opera house, Piazza del Popolo you can easily change to A line in Termini

Just wander around the neighboorhod and discover it's hidden gems, such as Piazza Benedetto Brin where it all began, Via della Garbatella, Carlotta's fountain, Piazza Damiano Sauli, Piazza di Sant’Eurosia, la Chiesoletta (small church), the Street art that you can find on many buildings (one mural painting can be seen from our terrace). Many typical restaurants are at small walking distance from our home; il Moschino is one of our favourites, since in spring and summer you can eat excellent roman specilties while sitting outside in a lovely spot. La Taverna degli Angeli offers revisited traditional cuisine, if you prefer pizza we suggest Pizzeria Panonto. There are tens of other restaurants we will reccomend if you wish, we can send you our personal suggestions. Garbatella neighborhood is full of special sights, that you can find nowhere else in Rome: as the Finacial Times stated "If you’re romantic by nature, walking into Rome’s Garbatella district will make you feel like you’re in a fairy tale. If you are a history buff, it’s like opening a book with perfectly preserved pages. If architecture and urban development are your passions, you will certainly be satisfied, while gourmands will be delighted at the charming restaurants dotted around this verdant neighbourhood". We will provide a full guide of the neighborhood with our personal suggestions
