  Dear family Gevaert! Thank you for a lovely exchange and holiday in Gent! It was the first time we experienced an home exchange and it was for us a great vacation. Your house is so big and you have prepared it for us in a great way with gift, food and drinks. We really felt warm welcomed. We could use your train pass so the trip in to city were very easy. The house is very near the train stop and that is very convenient. Everything in your house worked perfect and we did not miss a thing!! We were a little worried about the cats but they behaved very “politely”. We spend the vacation making day trips to Brugge, Nokke Heist and of course to the city center of beautifully Gent! Traveling in Belgium is so easy and near!! Great thanks for everything and welcome back to us!!

  Dear Franciska & Wilf, thank you so much for a great holiday! We had the best time and felt at home the moment we walked into your door. You are a very artistic family and we enjoyed your beautiful paintings very much! This was our first exchange and you made it wonderfully easy for us, providing a lot of tips and staying in contact, being perfect hosts! Your house is huge, very cosy and wonderfully comfortable. We especially enjoyed your beautiful terrace where we could eat, play and relax. Gent is a gorgeous city and thanks to all the tips and information you provided it was real easy to get into the city center, find the great playgrounds in your area ( which the kids enjoyed a lot!), etc. There's so much to do and see, we definetly need to come back :-). Also all the toys have yet to be played with :-). A very special experience was the hearwarming birth of the little baby kittens on our last day, we hope they are growing well - they were so cute!   Dear Franciska, we had a great stay in your warm welcoming house. We discovered beautiful cities around : Gand, Bruges, Anvers... museums and lovely walks. We went to Ostende too.   Liebe Franciska & Familie, für knapp 3 Wochen habt ihr unser Haus gehütet, während wir im Urlaub waren. Schon bei unserem ersten Skype Telefonat haben wir uns super verstanden und sofort gemerkt, daß wir Euch vertrauen können. Und unser Vertrauen in Euch wurde nicht enttäuscht! Ihr habt Euch wirklich perfekt um Haus, Garten und unsere Katzen gekümmert. Wir haben nicht nur alles so vorgefunden wie wir es verlassen hatten, auch für die hübschen Geschenke, die leckere Kürbissuppe und die selbst gehäkelten Spielzeuge für unsere Katzen danken wir Euch von Herzen! Wir würden Euch unser Haus jederzeit wieder anvertrauen. Nochmals lieben Dank und viele Grüße, Jana & Familie

• Wonderful and great exchange in Gent

  15/Apr/2018 Saksamaa - North-Rhine Westfalia - Bonn Centre

  This was our second swap with Belgium. We had a wonderful stay in a large house with garden, bikes and two lovely cats. Fransiska and the familiy gave us nice tips, what to do in the area, where to find nice restaurants and all information we needed for a wonderful stay in the old town of Gent. The tramway to Gent leaves just two minutes walking from the the house and just takes about 15 min into downtown. We spent a day cycling, onother day in Gent, one day at the seaside at Knokke, and half a day in a water park nearby. Our kids fell in love at once with the two cats. As usual, the stay was much too short and we hope to come back! We had some skype sessions before, and could easily clarify organistional stuff like sheets, towels, key exchange, etc... we enjoyed as well that every issue could easily clarified, so that e.g. we agreed that everbody can use the basic groceries for breakfast, a beer in the evening...The neighbour came along to ask whether everything was ok and whether we might need some help. When we returned, we had the impression, that our house was cleaner than before we left...:-) Thanks again to family Gevaert for the wondeful stay!!

• A wonderful experience!

  This was our first exchange, and it has been a wonderful experience! Franciska was the perfect host. All arrangements were perfectly made by mail and skype. We felt very welcome, we even felt ‘at home’ the minute we walked into their lovely, very big and cosy house. We were just the two of us with our dog Max in their five bedroom house. Max had two little friends, the lovely cats Noortje and Zorro. What we especially liked was the big living room with lots of light and nice view on the garden. There are a few good restaurants and all kinds of shops within walking distance. The house is ideally located to visit the wonderful city of Gent. It’s only 5 minutes walk to the tram that takes you to the city center. We went three days in a row to Gent and couldn’t get enough of it. We definitely would like to go back.
