• Great city, great home - wonderful exchange

  Hard to say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay at the Perrens' home. We were 4 adults and 2 kids, and everyone had everything they needed. The entire home really is beautiful, with a really warm vibe. The bright, open kitchen gave us an uplifting start to the day and provided a comfy, spacious hangout for the whole family. It walks out to a lush and green garden that has all kinds of great things growing in it (including the bunnies - they were fun to hang out with and super easy to take care of). The location is fantastic too - a short bus ride to the more bustling centre of Edinburgh, a short walk to shops, the harbour and a great nearby park. The neighbourhood is quiet but friendly, safe, and full of beautiful old homes to admire. Connections on public transit were easy to make, with buses making frequent stops nearby. Perhaps most importantly, the Perrens proved to be wonderful exchange partners. Easy to communicate with, very flexible and understanding, and they took great care of our home and cats. Our only regret was that we didn’t get a chance to meet face to face! Hopefully in the future as we’ll definitely be back to Scotland.

  In the first two weeks of August 2017 we spent another perfect holiday (3rd houseswap) in and in the surroundings of Edinburgh. We were very surprised by the quiet of the neighbourhood, being a part of one of the biggest cities of Scotland. The bus stop to the city centre was around the corner, the connections reliable and cheap. We found a welcoming house when we arrived and enjoyed the atmosphere of the house a lot! The fact of having the chance to meet the familiy only emphasizes this impression. We chose Edinburgh for a houseswap also because of the Military Tattoo. The house of Helen and Matthew was an ideal starting point to enjoy this fantastic event as well as to discover a part of the highlands, lochs and castles.

  We are just back from spending 5 days in Helen and Matthew's house in Edinburgh. We know Edinburgh well, but not really the part they live in. It was so beautiful and quiet. There are 6 of us, and their lovely kitchen / diner was perfect for us to all hang out in. We loved looking after the rabbits and our smaller kids loved playing in the garden. It really did feel like a home from home. Thank you so much for a fabulous home swap! Janet, Kenny and crew.

  We spend 10 wonderful days in Edinburgh. The beautiful and nice house in a good location is comfortable and has everything your heart desires . By bus it takes only 10 minutes in the city. Edinburgh is perfect for a great getaway in the lowlands and highlands. With whiskey , scotch beer and many pubs, we have also enjoyed the nightlife. Again a great exchange with home link :-)
