Highly Recommended!
We spent three weeks in February at Shelagh and Rick's central Sydney apartment. As others have commented, it is in an ideal location. Woolloomooloo is a characterful area with local shops and eateries nearby and within walking distance of all Sydney's major attractions and public transport. It was particularly nice to be so close to the Art Gallery of NSW and within minutes to be able to wander into the Botanic Gardens and down to the harbour. It was also easy to catch a bus to the beach. The apartment itself is very comfortable, well organised and equipped with useful information for exploring Sydney. Shelagh welcomed us personally and left us with a very generous supply of food and drink. Shelagh and Rick have recently completed their stay in our house and left it in immaculate condition.
A wonderful exchange. We found the Sydney apartment, easily following good directions and in pristine condition, comfortable and welcoming. It is in an excellent location for exploring all that Sydney has to offer. We were able to walk in either direction to the gardens, city and harbour, and within easy distance to trains and the Harbour ferries. On our return home, we found our own property awaiting in immaculate condition. Thank you Shelagh and Richard
A wonderful position for City exploration
We had a great week exploring the area around Woolloomooloo, which was a surprise in spite of having lived nearby for around 20 years. Shelagh and Rick were excellent hosts, with a well stocked kitchen in case we didn't have time to shop, and a very comfortable and well appointed city pad to share with us. A great 'trade' for our rural home in Bundeena ?
Exploring Sydney from here was so easy
We were able to access so many attractions on foot or public transport, so a car was not needed for our visit. Plenty of nice coffee shops and restaurants in the area and the walk through the botannical gardens was one of our favourite outings.
Very convenient location.
A pleasant walk through The Domain into the city. Lovely morning walk down to the harbour at Mrs Macquarie's Point. Only a few minutes walk to the NSW Art Gallery.
A great base for exploring Sydney.
We felt very welcomed, it was ultra convenient and free overnight parking was available. Would recommend car hire for days you want to explore wider sydney, and walking or public transport for the rest of your stay.
Great exchange with so many activities.
Communication with Shelagh and Rick prior to the exchange was good so it was very nice to meet them over coffee to exchange keys. Their sunny, modern apartment with great city views was perfectly situated for a city visit and contained everything we needed for a comfortable stay. As we are keen gardeners we were delighted to be so close to the Botanic Gardens which are an inspiration to visit.The tourist information provided by Shelagh and Rick was very useful and we found walks around the Harbour and Beaches that allowed us to explore the area. Sydney Harbour has so many accessable bays and walking trails that we are keen to explore further. Thank you Shelagh and Rick for a perfect getaway.

In the end we didn't stay here as we had found somewhere else to stay but we met up for a walk and lunch at the house. We would LOVE to stay here another time, as it is in a beautiful location.
Second time lucky
This was the second time we arranged an exchange here as the first time the apartment was flooded. This is easy walking distance to bus and train stations and a lot of popular sightseeing places in Sydney. As we have visited Sydney many times before we were just visiting with our daughter and family most of the time. We found the Ian Potter children's garden a favourite with our 2 year old grandson. Shelagh was there to greet us and show us around which we really appreciated. We also were able to give her our keys for their return exchange in April. We both used the gym facilities in the complex and my husband used the indoor pool nearby. This was our first time in this area of Sydney.
Great Hosts - Fabulous Location
We spent an amazing week in Shelagh and Richard's apartment in a lovely building, so central that we could walk to all the sites - the Opera House, the Botanical Gardens, even the Harbour Bridge. We enjoyed sitting in the roof garden, sipping some lovely Australian wine while looking out at the fabulous views. Richard and Shelagh were great hosts - they were there for our arrival and showed us around the neighbourhood, gave us lots of information on what to see and do, and always responded quickly to any inquiries. Our stay in Sydney was magical!
Private peaceful studio
This is a lovely private peaceful studio. The bedroom was comfortable with everything you could want or need, with a spacious deck overlooking a beautiful garden and the water. The studio had a small kitchen with a bar fridge, microwave and cooktop so we could prepare simple meals. The location was so relaxing you feel like you are far from busy city life. It was quiet and peaceful and we had a nice walk along the waters edge to Killcare cafes and shops.
A little piece of paradise
We had a lovely stay at your charming place north of Sydney. It is a lovely part of the coast and we went out and about everyday to enjoy this beautiful area. Thanks to you both for all the goodies you provided. We really enjoyed meeting you both. Many thanks, Jill and John
City dream
What a great location, perfect for exploring Sydney. Not only the tourist hot spots but the surrounding neighbourhood is so very interesting with great bars, cafes and restaurants around every corner. Jeff and Vicky
