We thoroughly enjoyed our stay just outside Edinburgh which is a fabulous city. We found lots to do and particularly enjoyed climbing Arthur's seat and visiting the Royal Yacht Brittania. Our hosts left everything necessary to enjoy our stay including a lasagne for our first night's meal.

We had a very pleasant week in Hamish and Hilary's lovely house, with occasional glimpses of Missy, their shy and beautiful tabby cat. It's a very nice area, with good public transport links and local shops.

Thank you Hilary and Hamish for a wonderful exchange. Thank you also for being so reliable and answering all our questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your comfortable home. The house is so convenient for Edinburgh centre: just a short bus ride away. Supermarkets and other shops are all within easy reach. Edinburgh has a lot to offer - not just the shops but also museums, galleries and restaurants. Outside of the city are many more interesting sites. We bought an Explorer Pass which really saved us a lot of money on entrance tickets to places. Highly recommended to any future exchangers! During our stay we travelled up to the Highlands for three nights. The journey didn't take long and we saw some truly beautiful scenery. We really were spoilt for choice when it came to things to see and do. We enjoyed looking after Missy your cat - she is a lovely furry ball and became quite affectionate with time! We enjoyed a fabulous long Easter weekend up in Edinburgh. The city is amazing - so much to see and do. Emily and I had great fun sampling new eateries. I would recommend 'The Witchery' which is silver service at its best. Emily's favourite was 'The Chocolate Lounge' on the 4th floor of Harvey Nichols - a heaven for all the chocolate lovers out there. The house was great, with a roaring real fire and comfy leather sofas to fall into after a long day sightseeing. The house has easy access into the centre with a brilliant bus route just outside the door. All in all, a great time. Maxine and Emily xx
