Herne Bay is one of Auckland's most desirable neighbourhoods. Lots of families live here so it's a very family friendly environment. We are a couple of minutes walk away from several good restaurants and cafes and a 5 minute drive away from lots more - so plenty of options for cuisine from all over the world! There is good shopping locally and Ponsonby Road (just up the road from us) is well known for being the best place to eat, shop and be seen. There are several parks close by and a public swimming pool. However the beach is just down the road with safe swimming and amazing views. We are not far from the motorway heading both north and south so there is good access for day trips in all directions.
