Our house overlooks our field which we are turning into a garden with vegetables, flowers, trees and chickens. It is a short walk to the river, where you can take a path to open countryside, or walk along the river to the centre of York, with all its historic attractions, the city walls, museums, art gallery, and shops. By car you can soon reach the North Yorkshire moors and Coast, where there are plenty of great walks, castles, abbeys and stately homes. London iand Edinburgh are 2 hours away by train
