Our home is a large 300 year old Grade II listed house, timber framed, with a Georgian facade, inglenook fireplaces, beams and lots of character. We have a large living room, family room/study, dinning room,modern kitchen (newly refurbished kitchen in 2013 with granite worktops and breakfast bar( with Aga range cooker, utility room (newly refurbished in 2013), large conservatory, large entrance hall/children's play area in summer, cloakroom, shower room, 4 bedrooms, en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath. It has a large private garden (approx 1/2 acre)with lots of mature trees, fish pond,trampoline with safety net, large patio with large dining table which seats 8. A large conservatory opens onto the patio. Our living space is about 2300 Sq ft in total.

We live in a picturesque rural area on the Cambridge/Essex/Suffolk borders. Cambridge is easy to access and is about 25 miles away, Imperial War Museum Duxford is 25 minutes drive, the American War Museum at Madingly nr Cambridge 35 mins drive. Our location is just 20 miles from Stansted airport, 45 mins from Harwich Ferry Port. We are located 5 miles from Clare, 6 miles from Halstead and a half hour drive from historic medieval towns such as Lavenham, Long Melford and Saffron Walden. London is 60 miles away with train services from Sudbury, Braintree or Witham and day trips are very easy. Gosfield lake (6 miles) has watersports. The coast is about 1 hour away,popular resorts are Aldeburgh and Southwold on the Suffolk Coast. Norfolk is easily accessible as is London (60 miles, regular train service). The village has a playgroud, recreation area and a few shops. Historic Castle Hedingham is 2 miles away and the nearby towns of Halstead, Sudbury, Braintree have swimming pools and leisure facilities and there are a number of good local restaurants. Colchester Zoo is 17 miles away.

We have 1 cat at present but we can make arrangements for it to be cared for if you do not wish to do this. A car will be needed as this is a rural area. Car hire would also be easy from Stansted Airport. We would prefer to travel within Europe at present. We are open to offers for any school holiday period, including within the UK for short breaks.
