Great place in the "green heart" of Holland
We stayed over the New Year in Woerden, an lovely historic town with fantastic train connections for day trips (i.e. Utrecht 10 min, Rotterdam 35 min). The home was cosy, well organized and perfectly clean. We had a warm welcome by a friend of the family. Woerden (located in the dairy district and known for its cheese marked) is worth spending time there. There are many things to see & do. We watched crazy dutchmen jump from a bridge in ice cold water, others playing curling with old tea pots on an ice rink on the market place. Our daughters loved feeding the rabbits and sleeping in very cosy beds.

It is only a five minute walk to the center of the city. There are a lot of good restaurants and cafes there. According to Zoover reviews, Woerden is the nicest city in the province of Utrecht. It is a 15 minute walk to the train station. In 35 minutes you are in the center of Amsterdam, in 15 minutes you're in Utrecht, in 30 minutes in Rotterdam and in 35 minutes you're in The Haque.
