Amazing though they are, the photos of this delightfully created home and garden can't do justice to the paradise of a home that Kay and Richard have created over many years for themselves and their family. The house is beautiful yet comfy, the gardens sculpted yet relaxed. All swapping arrangements were fun and smooth - the best of home exchanging, where you feel you are pals even when you have never met. Lovely family. Lovely home. Lovely part of the world. A perfect place to enjoy extremly beautiful nature in the great comfort of a lovely furnished and cosy house! The setting is stunning with the river, the massive beautiful garden, the grazing sheep on the hill... With all the hikes of the Lake District just around the corner, a location that is nearly too good to be true!

Looking for a corner of paradise: trees, flowers, green and calm? Go to Kay and Richard. The garden is amazing. The house is very comfortable. I spent a dream 3 weeks there. The Lake District is a beautiful area, perfect for walking.

Kay and Richard have created a truly wonderful home and gardens, near Carlisle. We enjoyed strawberries daily, were welcomed by Richard's chocolate brownies and a fine bottle of wine, and enjoyed relaxing in their spectacular garden, together with walks in the Lake District, coastal path, after catching the train to St Bees from neighbouring Wigton, and were very fortunate with some glorious weather. Richard and Kay are experienced exchangers, well organised and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for sharing your lovely home and gardens.

The Mill House, set in its own beautiful gardens and grounds is in a lovely location, near the lakes and fells but away from the crowds. We loved everything about it and had a most enjoyable week. All was in perfect order at home on our return. ?

The Mill House was just as beautiful as described, and the garden was lovely. We visited Ullswater and the NT property of Townend, but otherwise explored the peaceful Commons and the lovely village of Caldbeck. If the weather had been warmer we would have spent even longer just sitting in the garden and listening to the stream.

We have had a very relaxing stay at Richard and Kay's wonderful home. Their house is extremely cosy and surrounded by beautiful gardens, peaceful meadows and a tranquil river. For us as town dwellers, it was amazing to hear nothing but the sound of the birds and river. Besides, it was great to witness the newly born lambs on the adjacent hillside. We have enjoyed lovely walks in the vicinity, and made many trips to the Lake District - which is just around the corner. Richard and Kay have been very helpful and kind and we can really recommend exhanging with them!

Richard and Kay have created a beautiful home and an outstanding garden. It was a lovely place to stay for the rest we needed. As well as the Lakes we visited two RSPB reserves plus Talkin Tarn and the Solway Aviation Museum. There is lots to do within range. Thank you, Richard and Kay for a very successful exchange.
