Looking for exchanges during school holidays - we have an exchange for Summer 2023. Characterful family home in the picturesque village of Holmfirth. Holmfirth is situated in the Pennines on the Northern edge of the Peak District National park. Our home has a spacious dining kitchen on the lower ground floor with table seating 6-8 and breakfast bar. There are 3 bedrooms, a sitting room, a study/ extra bedroom and a snug/music room, a family bathroom and a ground floor cloakroom with WC. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, and there is a double bed and a platform bed with an extra double futon in the study. The view from the master bedroom is of hills and fields. Doors from the kitchen open onto a sheltered south-facing garden with patio dining area, flowers, vegetable beds and trampoline. From the house it is a short walk to the bustling centre of Holmfirth with restaurants, bars and cafes. The cities of York Liverpool and Manchester are linked by road and rail.

Village in picturesque countryside near Peak District and the characterful centre of Holmfirth. Our house is in the Holme Valley, with views of hills to the rear. There are many pleasant walks from our house which take in a wide variety of local views. There are many pubs, cafes and restaurants which can be visited on circular walks, so there is a lot to do with no driving required.

Our home is a short walk to the bustling cultural centre of Holmfirth with numerous bars, pubs restaurants and cafes. There are parks and a swimming pool and sports centre. Each year Local festivals include Art, Film, Folk and Food. Cyclists can join the hosts of riders attempting the Holme moss hill climb and passing the front door. The famous Picturedrome hosts exciting live music: many famous musicians appreciate the intimate ambiance of this historic venue. Our house is belonged to a Mill-owning family and is surrounded by beautiful countryside: the valleys and moors are loved by walkers. The Pennine way passes nearby. There are restaurants for every taste, from fine dining to excellent fish and chips, and many atmospheric pubs in the area. Holmfirth has many independent shops to browse and excellent local produce sold at the farmers market, farm shops and butchers. A short drive in any direction takes you to other local towns and villages. Manchester is a busy cultural centre for theatres and museums.

We are open to swaps during school holidays. We can also offer youth hospitality in exchange for use of holiday homes - ask if you are interested. We would like to swap with similar families who will look after our home and pets as we would. We can arrange for you to meet other families in the area to practice English while you stay, if you would like to. We want you to have fun in our home and offer the use of all toys and our piano. Help yourselves to vegetables from the garden. Please water plants in the garden and green house when necessary.
