Respectfully, you will have to take my word for it that this is one of the quietest, most peaceful, calming, relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable places that I have ever experienced in a lifetime of travelling, in an area that enjoys a micro climate with year round sunshine and pleasant sea breezes protected by the nearby cliffs from trade winds that are sometimes unpleasant literally a few kilometres away. Whale and dolphin watching...from the terrace, literally! and at certain times of the year you can be at 10,000 feet in snow drifts on the top of Mount Teide, ( if the roads are not closed due to snow conditions...hard to believe I know!!) having left the beach fifty minutes earlier, driving through Alpine like pine forests and lunar like volcanic lava rock fields, a truly amazing place unseen by the vast majority of tourists who flock to more.....commercial is the kindest word I can think of...parts of the island. Take the wine route back...and have dinner in a cave at a local winery dining on wild rabbit, fresh organic vegetables...and...and..ohhh...the wonderful local wines, you just have to know where to go...and I will share my experiences and special places with you. Approximately 45 minutes depending on traffic from main airport Tenerife South ( also some flights into Tenerife North) and i can arrange for you to be picked up and driven to apartment and/or a car exchange ( dont expect a new convertible BMW!!) that will be sufficiently dented to deter other more aggressive drivers at roundabouts! ( special price for this!) Take the bus ( five minutes walk) to capital Santa Cruz and sit back and relax and enjoy the scenery and this surprisingly cosmopolitan city that retains a village feel. There is a natural sea water swimming pool open to public but never crowded ( you need to be mobile as there are steep steps to this pool) five minutes away, or a choice of two marvellous HEATED sea water pools that have excellent facilities and charge a modest daily or reduced weekly rate with loungers etc etc and cafes on site...but really why bother when you can sit on the terrace and soak up the sun, stroll down to the sea and dip as much of yourself in it as you wish and feel really one with nature.
