Sonia and Nicolas were so generous to allow us to use their car and to have two extra visitors for a few days during our time. For two nights we were 4 adults and 2 kids and there was still more than enough space to feel comfortable.
The house and the garden are even more beautiful than what is seen on the pictures. The renovation was done in a really cool way with huge sliding doors, sky lights and with an extraordinary glassfloor/ceiling that one can walk on, above the sitting area of the living room. We just loved it.
Our girls loved Simba the cat very much and Simba didn't mind the girls following her around, petting her, and even carrying her around, which was a very nice experience for our girls (2 and 5).
Sonia and Nicolas (who is an incredible artist) gave us great ideas for hikes and places to visit. All the things we did, turned out awesome.
We hiked the Bisse de Trient, visited and walked around lake Champex and lake Tseuzier, we did a walk along the river and the castle in Martigny, we went to the recommended bakery (Cretton) which was really yummy, and the family-friendly bouldering areas (Pierre de Beurre and Dorenaz) that were recommended were great too (we were looking for safe places to bring our girls).
We were even allowed to harvest from the garden, which we did several times. We had Swiss chard twice for dinner and we also got herbs from the garden as well.
Sonia's parents who live next door were friendly and it was good to know someone was close in case of need/emergency.
Communication with Sonia, even in German, was warm, smooth and easy and she had left us food and a lot of special goodies so we didn't have to worry about anything, even arriving on a Sunday.
All in all we had a great week in a beautiful place with much more to do.
We just might have to come back :-)
