Liebe Esther, lieber Gerhard, vielen lieben Dank für Eure tolle Gastfreundschaft und die Bereitschaft uns für ein Wochenende zu den Figurentheaterfestspielen bei Euch in Göttingen aufzunehmen. Euer Haus ist wunderschön eingerichtet und sehr liebevoll dekoriert. Es gibt viel hübsches zubestaunen. Mit Museumsbesuch und Theatervorstellungen hatten wir eine kurzweilige Zeit. Wir kommen gern wieder und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir wünschen Euch alles Gute hoffentlich bis demnächst einmal 😉

Dear Lauer Family, many small things showed that you have a warm heart. We have experienced you as friendly, thoughtful, attentive and helpful. The contact was our pleasure. We felt very welcome. Typical for this holiday was the bad luck with the weather. There has been often, a lot of pouring rain in these three weeks. In both Zuidlaren and Göttingen. Very unusual. But your beautiful, characteristic and tastefully decorated home was the perfect hideaway. We loved sitting in the kitchen and on the porch overlooking the beautiful garden. An oasis of peace in cozy Göttingen. The kids loved the cats and the youngest loved to pick up one of your many books to read to them while they were having dinner. Inside, the children did a lot of tinkering, drawing, claying and building with the available duplo and playmobile. Also the Göttingen-monopoly has been played. The city and the surrounding area has a lot of outdoor potential and whenever it seemed to dry up a bit, we went out. We have enjoyed Seeburg am See several times (pedal boating, walking) and we cycled for a day in the fields, hills, villages around the city. Beautiful, sporty and rewarding with beautiful views due to the height differences. A highlight in the holiday was the impressive, unique waterworks of Kassel/Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe. This has no equal I am convinced. We also enjoyed the Harz Mountains for several days (Quedlinburg, Goslar and its mines, Thale, the Taufelsmauer, Walkenried, the Unicorn cave, etc.). Really nice! In Göttingen itself we painted ceramics, swam several times and enjoyed the cozy citycenter. And for those who ever visit the city: the famous Baumkuchen from Cron an Lanz is a must. Fair is fair, because of the rain we were unable to experience the full potential of the region, but we look back with satisfaction and are grateful for what we have experienced. We want to thank you for everything you did to make the exchange a success. Thank you very much dear Esther!

Liebe Familie Lauer, wir haben uns in eurem liebevoll vorbereiteten Haus sehr wohl gefühlt. Die ruhige Lage, Terrasse und Garten bieten beste Voraussetzungen für Entspannung. Die gleichzeitige Nähe zum Stadtzentrum lud zu häufigen Unternehmungen aller Art ein: Historisches, Turmbesteigungen, Parks und Einkaufen. Mit euren Rädern hatten wir schöne Ausflüge zu Badeseen und abgelegener Natur. In den umliegenden Städten gab es auch noch viel Sehenswertes. Bei Fragen habt ihr uns gern geholfen. Wir hatten auch unseren Spaß mit euren beiden charmanten Katern. Und vielen Dank nochmal für eure Hilfsbereitschaft bei unserem Pech mit dem Autovermieter bei der Heimfahrt. Wir, Martin und Annegret mit unseren zwei erwachsenen Töchtern, haben den Haustausch sehr genossen. Man hat nicht oft die Gelegenheit in einem mittelalterlichen Fachwerkhaus zu wohnen. Dieses Haus hat einen besonderen Charme und kombiniert alt und modern auf eine perfekte Weise. Es ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und äußerst gemütlich. Alles, was wir brauchten, war vorhanden, sogar Wickelfische, was wir vorher noch nicht kannten. Den Tipp unserer Tauschpartner, sich auf diesem Art Seesack den Rhein hinuntertreiben zu lassen, haben wir gleich in die Tat umgesetzt. Es war ein erfrischendes Erlebnis bei den sommerlichen Tempertaturen! Das Haus ist in bester Lage: auf der einen Seite der Rhein und auf der anderen Seite die Altstadt. Das Münster, die Museen, Ausstellungen, Geschäfte, historische Gassen und andere Sehenswürdigkeiten sind in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Unser eigenes Haus und den Garten fanden wir bei der Rückkehr bestens gepflegt vor – sogar der Rasen war frisch gemäht. Herzlichen Dank für den wunderschönen Haustausch!

Nice very tiny house. We were lucky to have brought all our bicycles to prevent the very high parking costs. Suggestion for future guests: park in Saint-Louis at the end of the rue de la frontière -> Rue de la stade (unlimited and free of charge). The swimming in the Rhein with a Wickelfisch is really fantastic. Thanks for haven choosen us.

Dear Esther & Gerhard, almost a year ago, but we still have such good memories of our exchange during summer 2015. Staying at your house was a real pleasure, not only because of the beauty of your stylish house and the spacious rooms, but also because of the very nice atmosphere and your beautiful garden. Göttingen is such a lovely city and a great place to explore by bike. We enjoyed going to the city centre and to the swimming pool, all by bike, but our favorite trip was our daytour to Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel. Thank you again for letting us stay in your house and of course for taking good care of Doris (who now has a stepsister) and our house.
