Our house is situated in a little street where you can easily park, it is very calm even if it is nearby the city center (10 minutes walking, 2 minutes by car). You'll find bakeries, restaurants, the market, but also the culturel sites such as the chruches, the library, the theater, the Napoleon Place with lots of entertainment for children and the concerts during the summer.
The rail station is at 15 minutes walking and from there you can go to Paris (3 hours); Nantes and the Loire castle (1 hour) Brittany or Bordeaux (2h30).
If you have a car (or our car), or by bus, you can easily go to several beach sites (Atlantic Ocean) and enjoy surfing or just swimming in family spots (less than 30 minutes by car). The big history entertainment park will be a great day at every age: Le Puy du Fou! (3/4h)
