Franklin is the food bowl of Auckland with extensive cropping and fruit growing combined with dairy goats, sheep and cattle. Rolling green pasture in every direction, Auckland also offers bright city lights, a casino and all the urban and big city trappings. With 27 regional parks that are extensively tracked, there is ample opportunity for outdoor adventure on the doorstep. Within 2-4 hours drive are rivers with world class trout fishing, skiing, surfing, mountain biking and some of the worlds best beaches. Local markets are normally open weekends with local produce and food.
