From our house you can reach by walking distance the best Restaurants in town: 1) Trattoria di Venere and Ristorante San Giuliano. You can eat the best pizza at Pizzeria Ulisse and Casale Ericino. You can go to several Longe Bars with just a 10 minutes walk; the ones we prefer is Domus Blanca, in via Guarnotti 60, and Caffé al Balio, Via Vicolo Balio, with an outstanding overview of Trapani and the Saline ( historical salt pans). We also recommend the local churches ( la Matrice, is an outstanding example of the gothic architecture, San Giuliano etc), with an entrance ticket which allows entrance to the most interesting. Finally, it is quite interesting the visit to the Norman Castle ( "Castello di Venere"), which dates back to early medieval period. In a summary, Erice has to be discovered street by street, slowly, taking advantage of the nice temperature in August ( about 26 degrees celsius).
