Alida and Danny's home is large, very comfortable and well-equipped. There's also a magnificent and huge orchard where we enjoyed a dream outdoor space with swimming pool and playground. Houten is a family-friendly town with all amenities close by and easy to get around by bike. From Houten, it's easy to get to all the major cities (40 min from Amsterdam) and attractions in the Netherlands. Alida and Danny were very attentive and responsive to our needs. Also, they left us plenty of documentation to enjoy the area. When we returned, our house was clean and tidy. We loved our home exchange with them!

Very enjoyable exchange with Danny and Alida, who are very nice and their three lovely boys. Their house is very large and comfortable, with everything you can need and even more, the small garden is very nice for eating outside or having "aperitif" in the evening, and the orchard (15 minutes walk from the house) is a real delight: we feasted on plums, and spent time in this green and very pleasant environment. It was very nice to have bikes available. There is a lot to do nearby, either by bike or after a short drive: beautiful forests of Heuvel rug, pretty village of Culemborg, many castles (like castle de Haar, or very near SlotZeist or Beverweerd), beautiful domains with parks and gardens (like Amelisweerd). It is very easy to visit the forts of the New Hollandse Waterlinie, a very interesting historical heritage, by bike. Utrecht is only 35-40 minutes away by bike (and even less because we were cycling slowly) and Amsterdam is only 30 minutes away by train (very convenient!). We discovered a country, a culture, and friendly people. Neighbours are also very friendly and nice, and Danny and Alida were always available and attentive to our questions. We totally recommend an exchange with Danny and Alida!

Danny and Alida's house is well equipped and we had everything we need for a great summer vacation. About five minutes' walk was a beautifully landscaped swimming lake with a sandy beach - perfect for families with children. There were also enough toys for children in the house. We could use the family's bikes - that was great. Cycling is a lot of fun in Houten. We had a very nice contact with Danny and Alida and everything was well prepared for us. Thank you for the great exchange!

We had a terrific time in the Netherland, and needless to say that Danny and Alida's welcome to their house was warm and great. We had a continuous correspondance with them during the exchange, which helped us greatly to get around town and find stuff around the house! The house was also nicely situated in a quiet and family friendly neighborhood, with closeby access to grocery stores and the beach! We had a great time exploring southern Netherlands thanks to Danny and Alida!
