La maison d'Isabelle et Stéphane se situe au centre des points d'intérêts du département de l'Eure. Vous cherchez le calme, l'authenticité, et un retour aux choses simples, venez à Hondouville chez Isabelle et Stéphane. Vous serez réveillés par les poules, qui vous auront pondues, des oeufs extras frais et 100% bio. La maison est au centre d'un grand terrain, avec un jardin aménagé pour que vous ne manquiez de rien. La qualité de l'accueil de Stéphane fait que nous nous sommes de suite sentis chez nous. Giverny, Rouen sont à 40 minutes, Les Andélys à 30 minutes, Evreux à quelques kilomètres. si voulez pousser plus loin, le pays d'Auge vous tends les bras à moins d'une heure. isabelle possède une belle collection de chouettes balades à faire dans un rayon de 20 kilomètres. Bref un échange très réussi, au milieu de la merveilleuse nature Normande. Allez y, vous ne serez pas décus.

The opportunity to have a summer vacation in the Normandie countryside exceeded our expectations! It was everything we imagined it to be. At the gate was the Canadian flag flying in the breeze. We were surrounded by wheat fields in a lovely valley near the village of Hondouville. Our daily routine was to feed the chickens. Lucie, the cat became our new best friend. Eva loved to pick the plums and she was able to share them with friends and a nearby restaurant in town. With our car exchange,we were able visit nearby towns such as Giverny (the Monet house and gardens), Evereaux, Vernon, Le Bec-Hellouin. Rouen, a beautiful historical city was just to the north. A must see! Further afield, we visited Courseulles Sur Mer and the Junk Beach Museum, and Dieppe. I drove to Charles de Gaulle Airport to pick up Stephane, Isabelle and Gustave. They had an overnight flight from Toronto. We drove back to their home, and then we drove to Rouen, where they treated us to a traditional lunch and a tour of the old city. Thank you. We will remember our conversations. Our visit with them was enriching. We were able to share our experiences. Thank you for your hospitality and friendship. And thank you for your invitation to home sit for you in 2024. We shall return to Hondouville!

We stayed in Hondouville from July 12th to July 24th 2022. Isabelle and Stefane's house is a comfortable and spacious home located a short walk from the centre of the village. On our arrival we were met by Lucie, a very friendly cat and by their three chickens. A lovely meal was in the oven for us which was very nice after our journey. Their home is lovely and was very well presented. There is loads of space and everything was exceptionally clean. The garden is very child friendly and safe. Our children played water games during the warm weather and loved helping with the chickens and minding Lucie too. It was a very nice experience for them to care for the little animals and we are now considering getting chickens of our own for our new home ! We did most of our dining outdoors too, the views are spectacular and its very pleasant to have a glass of wine of an evening whilst admiring the view. Isabelle and Stefane are very generous people, they allowed us the use of a car during our stay. We used it to visit some of the many local attractions. Bio Tropica - a zoo which the children found amazing. The famous artist Claude Monet's home and gardens which was a lovely day out. Chateau Gaillard which was build by Richard the Lionheart. Numerous trips to local lakes to cool during the nice weather. Another day we visited the restaurant in Hondouville. It is a charming little place with friendly staff and friendly locals. We were even treated to an aperitif by a man we met who had worked on Isabelle's and Stefane's house !! All in all we had a tremendous experience. We got to know the Normandie region very well and its such a lovely place. People are friendly and the attractions are plentiful. On our return our home was immaculate. Even our grass was mown !! Isabelle and Stefane are kind trustworthy people who we were lucky to come accross. We thoroughly recommend them as home swap partners. We are delighted they had a good time in our home and enjoyed their holiday. Thank you for a great time. Martin, Margaret, Maria, Tommy and Mike.

Our visit to Isabelle and Stéphane's home was in an area of outstanding beauty and tranquillity in the idyllic Norman countryside. Our host's interactive communication was extremely helpful, even giving us practical advice how to make the most of nearby Monet's Garden in Giverny. She even phoned the local town hall when we found that we were unable to book online for the national holiday of Ascension. Their home was both clean and welcoming. We certainly enjoyed the addition of their delightful/playful cat and the hens that gave us fresh eggs daily. Local towns of Acquigny, Evreux and Vernon as well as the many pretty villages and country walks, afforded us with plenty of delight and interest, especially the Roman sites. There was much more than we could have crammed into our short visit. It's certainly a region we'd like to visit again. A much appreciated break after the trying months of Covid.

Nous avons passé une très agréable semaine dans la maison de Isabelle et de Stéphane. Nous avons énormément apprécié le calme de l'environnement et la vue sur les champs et la forêt.Quel plaisir de ramasser quelques oeufs frais , chaque matin, dans le poulailler et de déguster le miel fabriqué par le maître de maison, à partir de ses ruches. Nous étions parfaitement à l'aise dans la vaste maison prolongée par une grande terrasse ensoleillée, permettant de prendre les repas à l'extérieur. Le département de l'Eure nous a enchanté par la visite de ses châteaux, abbayes et sites pittoresques. Le marché de Louviers, bien achalandé, nous a permis d'acheter des produits locaux de qualité. Nous avons également apprécié la rénovation du centre ville d'Evreux, mettant particulièrement en valeur les principaux monuments. Nous avons communiqué très facilement avec Isabelle qui a pris soin de notre maison et qui nous a laissé de charmants cadeaux en remerciement de notre échange. Isabelle und Stephane sind ein so liebes Paar. Es war eine Freude für uns sie kennenzulernen. Sie haben uns bei sich im Haus mit einem wunderbaren Menü begrüßt. Wir hatten die Gelegenheit sie und Ihre Kinder kennenzulernen. Es war ein schöner harmonischer Abend. Das Essen war vorzüglich. Das Haus ist ein schönes normannisches Haus, liegt sehr ruhig. Es ist eine große Freude, auf die Katze und die Hühner aufzupassen. Wir bekamen jeden Tag unser Frühstücksei geliefert. In der Normandie hat man Möglichkeit sehr touristische Ecken zu besuchen oder auch ruhige Dörfer in denen wenig Tourismus ist. Wir besuchten die umliegenden Städte wie Rouen, Evreux, Livier. Wir waren auch einige male am Meer. Sehr zu empfehlen ist Honfleur und Etretat. Es gibt auch verschiedene Chateaus und Burgen zu besichtigen oder Monets Wohnhaus mit dem bekannten Garten. Wir hatten einen schönen und erholsamen Urlaub in dem sehr empfehlenswerten Haus von Isabelle und Stephane.

We did not have a simultaneous swap and therefore cannot assess the house of Stephane and Isabelle. We met the family when they came to Friesland and got to know them as friendly, open minded and welcoming people. It felt good to meet them. Prior to, during and after the swap we have been in good contact. We will make plans to come to Normandie and visit them. Looking forward to it!!!

Isabelle and Stephane made us feel at home in there nice house and rich garden. Their openness and positive attitude made the cooperation easy and warm. Hondoville is a carm village in the countryside, it makes a good base for exploring the Normandie nature and many historical sigths. Thanks a lot. All the best reccomadations from us.
